Digital Copy Writer

Job Description

Your job will be to engage the reader and motivate them to do something, such as buy a product. You will also write copy designed to convey valuable information about GS brand & industry. You will also be known as a digital content writer.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • carry out project scoping and create a clear brief, in order to ensure the customer understand what the Company wants.
  • tailor the content and style of individual writing assignments according to our purpose – We are intended to sell and inform
  • understand your target audience – you’re not writing for the company, you’re writing for our readers, so you’ll need to know what interests them
  • identify key messages – understand the main thing that you want the reader to feel and do and how to communicate this powerfully
  • work with creative teams to ensure that the visual elements of the webpage complement the words
  • research your industry and its’ audience
  • identify fresh and interesting angles for your articles
  • write for webpage, blogs and potentially for social media, e-books, slogans and script
  • edit your own and others’ writing

Main Job

  • You’ll be managing several projects at once, which makes work interesting but can feel stressful at busy times.
  • You’ll need to adapt your writing style to fit with the audience.
  • You may write in a professional, corporate tone and voice for some projects, but more informally in others. In all cases you’ll need to do your research to ensure that what you write is accurate and conveys the message as clearly as possible.
  • Your writing will be subject to editing and feedback –

  • You may also go to networking events, conferences and awards ceremonies.
  • Research, plan and write inspiring, informative, engaging and audience-relevant copy
  • Collaborate with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems
  • Conduct research and interviews to learn more about communications needs, developments and perceptions regarding the subject matter; contextualize the findings
  • Collaborate with internal team members on brand-building projects
  • Work with the art director and creative team to create and modify content
  • Create and interpret project deliverables for a multitude of delivery channels
  • Consult with leadership on voice, tone, and style of content
  • Edit and proofread material as demand and scheduling requires
  • Engage in professional development to remain competitive within the industry
